In my 30 years of experience I have been asked this question at least one million times!! A Lot of my patients travel and while on my table for Medical Grade Treatment they often ask … “ Angie can I get a facial while I travel with my husband to ***** Resort” . My answer to that is of course you can. They will relax you to the point of being put to sleep. Between the music and having an aesthetician that know pressure points to the aroma of product , you will come out feeling and smelling like a lavender field. However, make sure you tell your provider that you invest in peels in a plastic surgery setting once a month and your at home regimen consist of retinols and Glycolic acids etc. so that you are not over treated.
Medical Grade Treatments( i like to call them ) not facials, are more of a hard-core work out for your skin , not so much pampering . They target very specific skin concerns and results are achieved much faster with having the option in a plastic surgery office or dermatology office to combine medical grade peels with light based treatments to achieve optimal results for hyperpigmentation, acne , scars, etc . Medical Aestheticians have had additional training in their field to address such concerns under the supervision of a doctor .
*I have always felt like their is room for both Spa facials and Medical Grade in our field without being competitive. We as Aestheticians just want to treat SKIN!!
